Something were all guilty of, just relax! champneys springs review

How many parents out there are guilty of not relaxing not making anytime for themselves? I know I am. As a mother i feel it is my job to look after my boys all the time I don't ask for help from family or friends and I never have any time to myself away from home and the children.

So when I won £250 Champneys spa voucher last year you can imagine how excited I was, the day had got to be used by the twenty first of the this month so both myself and my friend went for a day of relaxation at Champneys Springs which is set in the beautiful country side of Leicestershire.

The day was booked around a month ago Champneys have a range of offers on there website but we decided to book the Champneys free day which includes
  • Arrival 9am
  • Choose two treatments from: Personalised Facial, Body Radiance, Chocolate Wrapper, Spa Heaven Cocoon, Seaweed wrap, Beautiful Bump or Men's Personalised Facial.
  • Nutritious buffet style lunch
  • Full use of the resort facilities
  • Access to up to 20 classes per day*
  • Robe hire and flip flops
  • Depart 6pm
Between us we choose to have the personalised facial & Chocolate wrapper as our treatments plus we decided to pay extra and have the french manicure we were also going to have our haircut but the spa didn't have any hairdressers so unfortunately the option for that wasn't available.

Champneys springs is Deceptively spacious

On arrival to the spa we both checked in we were given an Itinerary of what Our day would include the staff on reception were all very polite and made us both feel at ease straight the way, we were both given the most brilliant white robes and flip flops that guests can wear anywhere, including sitting for lunch. It’s a relaxed environment with no pressures on what you wear and the staff on reception were also kind enough to show us around.

We headed straight for the changing rooms to change into our swimwear. The changing rooms were a little tired and could have done with updating but overall were clean and tidy plenty of mirrors hair dryers and lockers to put your personal items into. Our first treatment wasn't until 11am so we had time to explore and look around we went to collect our complimentary drink there was a good variety of choice, tea, coffee and different fruit juices which came with some delicious fruit to snack on.

We then decided to head to use the steam room and sauna both which were lovely rooms both very clean we both certainly felt relaxed after spending time in them. Next we headed to the jacuzzi which is located in the swimming pool area. The swimming pool was bright, airy with lots of natural light as there were windows all the way round the room, it was very clean and there was plenty of loungers to be able to sit and relax at the side of the pool if you choose to. Water and clean white towels were also in plentiful supply.

Lunch was served in the dining room we were both shown to our table which had already been arranged the waiter that showed us to our table was very polite pulling out the chairs for us, the staff were very attentive and asked what drinks we would like with our meal's, the dinner was a buffet style lunch which was all of the health food variety there was a wide variety to choose from pastas, couscous, salad, we both choose the roast dinner, turkey, roast potatoes, and steamed vegetables the food was hot and tasted delicious there was plenty of food for everyone for pudding there was a large assortment of fresh fruit yogurt and rice pudding.

Our first treatment was booked for the french manicure it was a very luxurious treatment all areas of the hands, arms and nails were attended to with intricate detail we both were able to pick from quite a wide variety of nail polish of which you got to keep the bottle of nail polish afterwards which we both agreed was a nice finishing touch to a fantastic treatment.

The treatment area bright spacious with water running from the skylight added to the relaxed atmosphere

Our second treatment was the luxury facial the lights in the room were dim and there was soft music playing in the background i think i dozed off to sleep I actually felt amazing so relaxed and more human after this treatment it was outstanding and i enjoyed the whole experience of it.

Our Third and final treatment was suppose to be the chocolate wrapper but for some reason this had been changed without informing us, It had been changed to the body radiance treatment, that was the only groan of the day that we hadn't been told about the change in treatments which was a little disappointing as the chocolate wrapper was the treatment we were both looking forward to the most, However it was to late to change it to anything else so we both had the the body radiance, which involved a full body scrub then having a shower then a full body massage the treatment was great but we both actually enjoyed the other treatments more than this one.

After each individual treatment you are given a small client care consultation form highlighting anything the therapist would recommend and the products that they have used which are all available to purchase in the Champneys resort shop.Champneys Spa was exceptionally clean and bright the smell of the aromatherapy oils made you feel instantly relaxed. Champneys spa has a unique air of tranquillity to the grounds and the building, one that emanates a sense of ‘this is me time’, and that you’re there to focus on your health and clear your thoughts. It’s surrounded by nature, and during the day you can hear the sounds of birds tweeting. The spa throughout is deceptively spacious it really is a wonderful place to unwind and clarify your life’s health goals. There was always a member of staff never more than a few footsteps away to ask for some assistance or any questions you might have and all of whom were very helpful.

I would highly recommend Champneys Springs to anyone I thought the price was quite expensive but you get what you pay for in life and it was worth every penny. Making time in your life to relax is a must for anyone and this is the perfect place to clear your mind and unwind.
