Created by magic - Personalised prints and Keepsake Gifts

This week we were very lucky to receive and review prints made by Created by magic if you haven't heard of created by magic, let me tell you a bit about them they are a website that specialises in personalised prints and keep safe gifts which are truly beautiful. There are products for all different occasions such as first birthday ideas, christening gifts or gifts just because.

I really love personalised items so I loved the idea of these, I chose the bright rainbow prints  because I love rainbows there is something really special about a rainbow and as the twins will be my last babies all my children are special but there is something magical about having twins, it seems fitting to pick that particular print for them something they can have upon their wall, once they go into there own bedroom and keep as they grow up.

Ordering the print is really simple you just choose the print type you want to purchase, type in the name of your choice then check out - I chose a really simple print but there are other prints in which you can have your child's name and date of birth or you could have a wedding print with all the details of the big day on the print. The website itself is really easy to navigate around so ordering prints and other personalised items could not be any more simple.

Our prints arrived really quickly from ordering and they came really well packaged, in an envelope with do not bend on them. The prints are really good quality, eye-catching and bright which I love, the pictures are exactly as they are shown on the website - the only downside is they don't come already framed so do check before you purchase especially if you are looking for something that is framed already. Having said that frames don't cost that much and you can pick up some decent frames for your print or prints at pretty good prices not only that if you buy your own frame you can match it to the room or where ever you intend to display it.

Overall I love Created by magic and was very impressed with the girl's prints, the company is exactly what it says creating a little bit of personalised magic for everyone. The personalised prints are really reasonably priced, the pictures that I ordered are priced at £15.00 each however other personalised items prices vary check out the website below to find out more.

There is something for everyone over on their website. The prints would make for a perfect christening, birthday, Christmas or newborn baby present. Or if you are just looking for a beautiful personalised picture for your child’s room.

You can find out more about Created by magic over on their website HERE

Created by magic have been kind enough to offer you, my readers, the chance to win a personalised print of your own, you can enter the via Rafflecopter below good luck.

We are back new blog design, name and #competition

We Are back With a New blog design Name and competition!

I am so excited to announce the return and complete overhaul of my blog formerly known as two monsters and me, we will now be known as My crazy family story not only have we had a name change we have had a complete makeover with the help of pipdig so you can see we are going for a more modern sleeker looking page I actually love the design.

I have been away from blogging and writing for sometime now life just got so busy my blog had to unfortunately be put on the back burner for a while but I have missed it and there is a feeling of empowerment writing this post I am excited about where life is going to take me and us as a family and of course I want you as readers to join us.

Why did I change the name?

I as a person I have changed so much since I started this blog and my family has changed and grown, I was in a dark and quite emotional place when I started writing this blog. I started to write to put my feelings and emotions in one place. I was quite miserable back then my life was completely upside down, then there was the pregnancy with Jack that I dont for one minute regret, nor would I change him but it should not have happend. Anyway coming back to my blog with fresh ideas and feeling the happiest in my life I have been for a long time Two Monsters and Me just didn't fit any more although that part of my blog is still here still and is still a part of me but doesn't fit with my life so we are now crazyfamilystory.com which I feel is far nicer and a far better fit for us as a family going forward and I am really happy with it!

What can you expect to see from the blog going forward?

Im going to tell you all about whats being going on in my life, how I met the lovely Ian there are going to be some catch up posts from the twins pregnancy and of course a introduction to them, Liam's story I have a lot to tell you about where his journey is at now, I am also going to talk about other reasons why I stopped blogging and most of all keep you in touch with my life and our adventures of are ever growing family of eight yes that is right! There is now Mummy, Daddy, Ben Ian's son from a previous relationship hes 20, my three boys Liam (7) Adam (5) Jack (2) and Demi-rose and Eva-Jen 4.5 month old twins some days the house is so noisy my ears are ringing at the end of the day, sometimes the only me time i get to myself is when I go to the toilet and not even that is guaranteed but I actually wouldn't have it any other way.

I hope you enjoy reading about our adventures to say thank you for having me back I'm running a competition I hope you all enter I'm looking forward to reading your answers

The #Chokeables, How to save a child from choking

As you all probably know by now, my job is as a registered nurse, however I am only trained in general nursing although when it comes to choking there isn't really that much difference in the skills you need, I do think its really important that as many people as possible know how to give treatment in an emergency situation like choking and St johns ambulance are trying to help spread the word of just that.

Everyone should have the skills and confidence to know what to do in an emergency. Knowing basic first aid can be the difference between life and death – and every week they hear of new people whose lives have been saved because someone nearby knew what to do. 40% of parents asked by SJA have witnessed their own baby choke and when almost four-fifths don’t know what to do in this situation so they have made a short memorable video, The Chokeables – featuring the voices of David Walliams, David Mitchell, Johnny Vegas and Sir John Hurt – that shows people how to help a choking baby.

In The Chokeables, the celebrities take on the characters of animated objects that could potentially choke babies: a small princess toy, a pen lid, a jelly baby and a peanut. They've joined together because they've had enough and want to show how easy it is to save a choking baby's life. In just 40 seconds you can learn how to give first aid to a choking baby.

You may well have already seen this video and you might know what to do if someone starts to choke but other people might not so its well worth sharing it with friends and family spread the word, you never know it might help you to save a life one day.

To find out more about the #Chokeables campaign and St Johns Ambulance you can visit there page here

St Johns Ambulance are also giving you the chance to win a first aid kit.

Top tips for coping with babies and children with cold's #Competition

Autumn isn't quite upon us but, the horrible weather is and lets face it all those nasty bugs/viral infections are flying around like its party season. With that its inevitable that the colds are doing the rounds its horrible when you are suddenly struck down with a cold - you know the symptoms bungy nose, headaches, sore throats and aching bones, not to mention usually a cough and high temperature which lets face it can make you feel pretty unwell, so what do we do take to our beds? grab a bit of sympathy, take some paracetamol/Ibruprofen, walk the house at 4am cause your having a coughing fit you cant control, or grab a pint of water because your mouth is that dry you feel like you could drink the entire contents of the ocean and more alright so a slight exaggeration but you are probably thinking you know the feeling.

however for babies and children that cant talk, a cold can feel like the end of the world, they don't know that you have to blow your nose to clear it, or that in a few days they will probably start to feel better - a day for a young child is a lifetime an for an adult looking after a child with a cold 24 hours can seem like a lifetime and leave you looking around for those sticks to prop your eyelids open.

Im hoping this list will help you, although there is no cure for the common cold just having ways to manage them makes life so much easier so you can try and get at least get a few hours sleep and be able to function the next day.

Top tips for coping with babies and children with cold's

  • Drink Plenty - dont worry too much if your baby is off there dinners as long as they are drinking plenty for babies that are weaned offer you baby and extra bottle of milk or an extra feed on the breast if you are breast feeding, try and keep a cup with water, or diluted juice near by breathing through there mouths drys it out and will make them have a sore throat. with smaller babies you could try giving them a couple of ounces of water inbetween feeds to keep them.
  • Rest - make sure if you little one needs to sleep, let them, as long as they are getting plenty of fluids inbetween.
  • Raise the mattress - if your child has blocked nose, you can make their breathing easier by raising the pillow end of your child's bed or cot by putting books or bricks under the legs, or placing a pillow under the mattress (you shouldn't put anything under the mattress of a baby younger than one year old).
  • Medicine - Liquid paracetamol and ibruprofen will keep temperatures at bay and will also ease there time when they are sleeping, make sure you follow all directions on the bottle
Top tips for coping with babies and children with cold's

  • Atmosphere - warm moist air can help with breathing and a blocked nose so you could take your child into the bathroom and run the tap or shower.
  • Temperature - make sure the room they are sleeping in isn't too hot or stuffy keep clothing normal and use a thin sheet - also invest in a good thermometer this way you will have an accurate reading and if you notice there temperature is to high you can act.
  • Medical attention - Always seek advice from a doctor or medical professional if your child has any other worrying symptoms other than the cold it self also if you are unsure or worried better to get them checked than to leave it until they are worse.

Canvas design #Reveiw & Competition

I have always been pretty rubbish at taking pictures of the boys, its one of the few things I regret doing when they were smaller, I do wish I had taken more pictures of them as memories for when they got older, but since starting my blog all that has changed, in fact I have become a bit snap happy I have always usually got my camera with me and if I am not snapping with that, I am taking pictures on my phone - I have had some of the photos developed but I haven't got any pictures of them for the walls, well none that that I want to hang. So when Canvas Design offered me the opportunity to review one of there canvases for them I jumped at the chance.

I picked the best picture of the boys that I had, the only instructions the lovely Loren over at canvas Design gave was that the picture had to be over 500mb, to be honest I was pretty sceptical as I have had a couple of canvas before of pictures of the boys when they were babies and both the pictures were really pixalated and blurred so I was really disappointed.

When my Canvas arrived I felt quite nervous about what the picture would be like, the Canvas came wrapped up really well, it was in cardboard and bubble wrap so it was really well protected, so well wrapped up it took me quite some time to get into the box. When I pulled the canvas out of the box it was perfect, in fact I loved it so much it nearly made me cry. The picture is exactly as it was when it was first taken there was no blurring, you cant see any of the pixels its really a top quality photo and canvas I am so happy with it, its far better than I anticipated.

The perfect wall Canvas easy to upload pictures put all you memories on canvas

Ordering a Canvas from Canvas Design couldn't be simpler, you simply select the design you would like any from a photo or mobile, select the size and image preferences and then check out. There are a good section of sizes to choose from and prices start from just £7.99 all prices include standard delivery. The Canvas also comes with all the wall fixing so it can be hung straight the way. I would definitely recommend Canvas Design.

Canvas designs have also given me one of there beautiful canvases to give away you my readers, you can choose any canvas size you would like from 6x6 up to 40x40 printed on a standard canvas and of course any photograph or picture of your choice just enter via the easy Rafflecopter form below and good luck.

If your not lucky enough to win or you would like to purchase a Canvas use the code BLOG15 at the checkout to get a massive 15% off your order

Indoor Fun At Half Term

Lets face it the weather has been pretty awful in the last few weeks and this week isn't any exception. The half term is here and with the weather being rain virtually all of the time, we practically have no choice but to stay at home, when we do venture out it is usually to visit friends or relatives, however this still means most of our time is being spent indoors. With two very lively boys this can be quite a challenge for me and very boring for them.

Center Parcs have set a challenge this month, to get creative with your children and to make a game to have some indoor fun. Now I am not the most creative mummy and I am certainly no Picasso - But I am partial to a bit of quieter time and laughter which making, creating and playing always seems to bring.

Taking inspiration from Lisa's tips on indoor family time, Center Parcs challenge, Lisa's tip is;

"Screw up some old newspaper and stick it together to make a ball. Decorate it, grab some empty toilet roll holders and make your own indoor ten pin bowling alley"

I hadn't got any empty toilet roll holders so we put our own spin on the game. Using plastic cups we made an in-door's skittle set, I got the boys to paint the cups in a colour of their choice, Liam choose blue, Adam Purple they really enjoyed painting each cup it took a little while for us to get through them, but the boys concentration and creativity really shone through they love to paint, we put the cups to one side so they had time to dry before we played skittles.

Whilst our new lovely skittles game was drying out, We moved onto a different task I gave the boys both a medium sized box each, with my help we cut out a mouth shaped semi-circle on the box, then I drew on the boxes two circles for what looked like eyes and they both painted the eyes on there boxes. The boxes eyes dried pretty quickly - quite a good job because there concentration with the creative side of making was beginning to waver slightly. My idea was to take it in turns to roll balls along the floor into the hole, The boys had very different ideas they decided to fetch all there push along cars line them up and take it in turns rolling the cars into the hole.

Even though the hole was quite big they still managed to role the cars around the boxes, but they had great fun, laughing and giggling no squabbling over anything and they played this all evening until it was time for a bath and bed.

I thought they would be fed up when they got up the next morning or have lost interest, much to my surprise they went back to the boxes again, bruming, zooming and whooshing cars and anything else they could find with wheels into the box, in which they have called "Robot" it was lovely to see them playing and most importantly using something that had cost nothing, that they had helped to create.

Of course later that afternoon the boxes were quickly losing their novelty, we fetched out the skittles/plastic cups that had dried out, again the boys wanted to use there cars to knock them down, it was great they were using there imaginations, saying "I am winning" and playing together as a team.

The games were really simple to make all that was used was,

  • Plastic Cups (left over from a Party)
  • paint
  • Cardboard boxes (picked up from a supermarket)

The two games kept a two and a three year old very happy. For the cost of virtually nothing they were both really simple, but really effective, it just shows a little bit of imagination and some bits lying around the home can lead to a fun filled afternoon for children. The indoors can be just as fun as out.

This is my entry to the Center Parcs and Tots 100 February challenge. If I’m chosen, I would like to visit Sherwood forest’

If your anything like me, my standard purse is enormous its packed full of cards receipts, some gift vouchers and loose change, of course for everyday use its not always practical, on the school run I only take a small bag so my purse doesn't even fit into it i end up with copious amounts of loose change clinking round at the bottom, so this cute little Apple purse is perfect for keeping your loose change in, perhaps when your on the school run, or for like me or my night out at slimming world where again I only take my small bag, this purse would also be great to keep in the car for parking change or perhaps for when you are going to the gym and can only carry something compact around with you so you see its a great idea for all those little trips when you really don't need your over sized purse!

not only that with it being an apple shape I use it to remind me not to buy any extra sweet treats from the shop on the way home from school when really I only need milk - it reminds me to be good!

The purse is made from real leather, the finish is of the highest quality and all Julie Slater and Son products are made in house, I love that the purse is very unique and quirky something I always look for when I am buying new things - I don't want the same as everyone else! the purse retails at £16.50 which I think is a little on the more expensive side however like I have said in other reviews previously you get what you pay for with products if you want something that is higher quality you have got to be prepared to pay that little bit extra and to be honest I think its worth every penny.

The lovely Julie over at Julie Slater and son have kindly given me £25 voucher to giveaway to my readers, there products and bags are beautiful well worth popping over to there site and having a look you wont be disappointed, www.julieslaterandson.co.uk

My idea of a perfect Christmas

As you all know this year has been particularly hard for me, well I say that and what I mean is its been one of the hardest years of my life my heart was broken in more ways than one - after nearly a year of being on my own with the boys, I know what I want from life and from Christmas, I want my family back together.

The moment that Liam and Adam's daddy walked out of the door our lives changed where there was talking, laughing and I guess at times a lot of shouting there was nothing a huge gap has filled all our lives, empty spaces where clothes were hanging, shoes were missing, the rooms in the house were all that little bit bigger and empty.

The trouble is at that moment when he left the family home, people who love me and who love him have taken up positions as people will do. Its only human nature for people that love you to want to protect you, they don't want to see you hurt, they also hate the other person for breaking you and that is exactly what we have both done to each other.

I am not prepared to give up on something or someone I love so easily, some might think I am stupid some might say I am doing the wrong thing but this is my family, my world I think there are enough broken homes in the world and I just don't want mine to be another one for some people it works for me I just cant put myself through it, as I love that man like I have never loved anyone in my whole life, if there is even the smallest chance that this relationship is going to work I am going to take it after all it took two people to break the relationship, its going to take two people to make it. we are all humans and have all made mistakes its not about the mistakes you make though its about learning from them and moving forward.

So Santa for my perfect Christmas I want my family back together, I want us to be a four again and not a three, I want there to be smiles and laughter fun and games not to mention I especially want the boys eyes to be sparkling and for them to be bouncing around with excitement, with everyone around that loves them and that's what Christmas is all about - family, laughter and love.
Merry Christmas! This post is my entry into the Tots100/Argos 12 Days of Christmas competition.

#Christmas with MoonPig

I am sure everyone knows Moonpig, especially the "Moonpig.com" jingle I am sure that it is forever going to be imprinted on all of our memories!!

For those that don't know Moonpig, Moonpig are a very well known personalised greeting card website - they were one of the first websites to make their mark in the ever popular world of personalised and photo greeting cards.

Moonpig have a fabulous selection of cards - you will find a card that is suitable for everyone after all there is huge array of card choices. The prices on the site are very reasonable.

When you think of Moonpig you automatically think of cards - well I do but they don't just have cards on there website, The first thing that struck me was the choice of products - there really is something for everybody!

You can choose from personalised or photo upload T shirts, wall art, mugs, chocolates or even personalised wines & spirits!

I was given the chance to review a couple of Moonpig's gift ideas I was sent a lovely personalised child's T-shirt and a reindeer Tatty Teddy.

The T-shirt was SO easy to create - you could just upload your photos and decide where on the T-shirt you want them. although I decided on just some pesonalised writing I wanted something simple but you can be as creative as you would like, It took literally two minutes to design and to order and when it arrived I was absolutely delighted with the result. The colour is brilliant red - Liam's favourite

The quality of the T-shirt and writing on it is fantastic - they don't look cheap like the letters could wash off, as they sometimes can on personalised product's - I love the T-shirt and so does Liam!

Christmas gifts and personalised cards gifts for all occasions

The second Item I received to review was the cute Tatty Teddy reindeer children's cuddly toy he really is cute very well made and quite perfect for the festive season he is lovely, soft and cuddly, kids are going to love them up and down country this Christmas, they would make a great stocking filler.

Christmas gifts and personalised cards gifts for all occasions

I made the mistake of thinking that Liam would be happy with his T-shirt and Adam (he loves cuddly toys) would have the reindeer but of course boys being boys and the teddy being so cute they both want him so he is currently confiscated in my kitchen.........poor tatty!

Tatty teddy is priced at £10 and the T-Shirt is priced at £11.99 which I think is about average for the price of the gifts, they are definitely worth the money. Moonpig have a great amount gift ideas and personalised gifts well worth popping over to there website and having a look.

The lovely people over at Moonpig are feeling very festive and have given me a lovely Jolly Christmas Chocolate Hamper to give away to one of my lovely readers.

#WIN a 10 x 1 month's supply of Germany's NO. 1 Slimming Supplement, formoline L112

When people want to drop some weight, and lets face it who doesn’t these days, the diets that are on the market are sometimes a little hard to follow.

We often feel that we can undertake part of the diet, but there are parts which just do not suit us at all.

SO I am introducing to you Formoline L112

weight loss tablets slimming aids health and fitness

With most diets there is always a part that doesn't suit us all, we are practically doomed to failure, so we often turn to tablets or capsules to help us along. Formoline L112 is just such a tablet which claims to bind the fat in our food and take it out of the body without it being absorbed.

The main ingredient in Formoline L112 is derived from shellfish and it is this that binds onto fat molecules making them too large to be absorbed in the gut For that reason, this product is not appropriate for those who have an allergic sensitivity to shellfish. Those who are taking birth control pills, menopausal discomfort relief pills and certain other medications must also consult with their doctor before taking this supplement. The supplement may also be inappropriate for those who have bowel issues and those individuals must also consult with their doctor before taking up this product. For most individuals, however, the product is healthy, safe and effective as part of an overall healthy eating regime.

The general idea is that eating saturated fat will literally add fat to the body. If this can be grabbed and taken out of the body without being absorbed, it stands to reason that we will consume fewer calories. It doesn’t take out all the fat, we need some to survive of course, but for the most part, it just helps people to stick to whichever healthy eating regime they are following.

If you eat or drink more energy than your body actually needs it will store the excess energy as fat. To lose weight or maintain your weight you need to eat or drink less energy formoline 112 helps you do that by using a naturally derived fibre that binds with fats it reduces the overall calorie intake from food by removing a significant proportion of dietary fats at source, in the stomach.

Formoline L112 helps to reduce feelings of hunger and to increase feelings of fullness. People who have adopted a healthier eating regime will sometimes feel these effects in the form of almost constant hunger. Reducing portions and sticking to low-fat foods is one of the hardest hurdles to overcome when taking up a healthy eating regime. For this reason, a product that can help give you a sense of being full and which can help make it easier to eat smaller portions is incredibly valuable to anyone. The all natural ingredients mean fewer unwanted effects from this supplement.
FAD diets and eating plans often offer immediate results but the weight is usually put right back onto your figure as you return to your old eating habits. Formoline L112 can help make diet plans a success by serving as a part of an overall reduction in ones consumption and absorption of calories. you should Consult with a doctor if any of the above-listed conditions happen to apply.

formoline L112 is an award-winning, trusted slimming product that has graced the headlines in Germany (for all the right reasons), for more than twelve years. German users have learned to adapt their use of formoline L112 according to their circumstances and it is used as much by those trying to maintain their weight as those trying to lose excess weight.

Formoline L112 costs £24.95 for 48 tablets and is available from pharmacies and health food shops nationwide or at Health Stuff

Call 02890703100

I have been given 10 packets (48 tablets per pack) of formoline L112 to giveaway to 10 winners.

It's The Dogs Doodahs! #Reveiw and #Giveaway

First Of all I love that title "The Dogs Doodahs" It makes me smile every time I read it.

The Dogs Doodahs is a fantastic slightly cheeky Personalised card and gift company.

delivered straight to your door personalised cards and gifts for all occasions

The Company have a vast amount of cards to choose from, for all occasions birthdays, anniversary's, get well soon cards and even divorce cards. A lot of the cards have humour in mind, but if you like cards to have meaningful words, pictures or just blank cards you cant go wrong their really is a choice for everyone.

I was given a code to order a card of my choice, I decided that I would order a card for the boys dad. The birthday card making process is really simple, there is a box at the side of the page where you can search for what you want for example, Whats the card for?, Who is the card for? and the occasion, once you have selected your options, it searches and gives you a list of all the cards available for the one you would like. You then pick your design, of which there are lots to choose from some of which are just standard you don't have to change anything on them, others you can change things on them like putting in them specific photos and names.
I choose for the boys names to be on the front of the cards and for one of them to have a personalised picture on it. I have to say the whole process is really simple.
There is also a choice of two sizes of card A5 or A4. The prices are £3.50 for a standard size A5 card and the A4 card is priced at £5.95

I ordered two birthday cards for Adam and Liam's Daddy. The great thing is if you order them before before 2pm they are delivered either to you or the person you love the very next day! The cards are a fantastic quality and I would definitely use this site again for card and gifts and with Christmas nearly here what a fantastic way to save time you could literally make your Christmas cards in your dinner hour!. I would show you the cards that I have made and pesonalised but I know that their daddy might read my blog and we all know its unlucky to see your card or to open them before your birthday!!.

The Dogs Doodahs also have a range of gifts available on there website including, mugs, balloons, and champagne they also have a variety of gift cards from Argos, B&Q and many more available which is very handy, so if you are struggling for a gift or you have got to get someone a gift quickly you can order a card and a gift voucher at the same have them delivered to your loved ones address hassle free.
