Chuggington Ready to Rescue DVD #Review

This month has seen the new release of Chuggington's Ready Rescue DVD, I we have kindly been sent a copy to review.

When Liam was around two he used to watch Chuggington but he got bored with it, as quick as he had liked it, so I wasn't sure what he would make of the DVD that we were sent. I popped it on one afternoon over Easter, when it was raining and the results were silence, I couldn't actually believe it the boys were both glued to the TV - They loved it. They watched it all the way through with out moving off the settee!

Keep the kids entertained with Chuggington DVD

The new DVD, called Chug Patrol: Ready to Rescue, features four 12 minute episodes from season four, plus the 23 minute special that gave its name to the DVD. That's a massive total run time of 71 minutes. It also features the first ever and never before seen Chuggington music video, Chug Patrol: Ready to Roll, which is a catchy rock/pop song that introduces who’s who in Chug Patrol, one of the new teams seen in Series Four of Chuggington.

  • Chug Patrol - Ready to Rescue (feature length special) - It’s time for the trainees to move up to advanced training. Chug Patroller Wilson proves that he’s in control and ready to roll when he saves Koko from a collapsing tunnel and rescues Emery in the forest.
  • Chief Wilson - Wilson takes a test to assess his new Chug Patrol skills, but he forgets something important and fails. Later, when a real emergency arises, Wilson handles the situation perfectly and gets Old Puffer Pete out of trouble. Jackman is impressed – maybe Wilson will even make chief one day.
  • Park Patroller Wilson - When Old Puffer Pete goes sleep-riding around Chuggington, Wilson must find a solution to keep him safe.
  • High Rise Rescue - Hodge gets stuck on a platform high up in the air, but Wilson’s clever thinking saves the day.
  • Fearless Wilson - When Brewster slips into the river, Wilson must overcome his struggles with the speed booster waggon to get there super-fast and help his friend.
The DVD is fantastic the boys especially loved the first episode, you can here their apprehension when they think the tunnel is going to collapse and they both cheer when KoKo has been saved, every time - when I say every time, I say it because this is the only thing the boys want to watch at the moment when I ask them which DVD they would like on, so I think they must have watched at least thirty times.

The DVD has definitely started a craze off in our house especially with Liam!, for Easter the boys both had money so Liam decided he would buy the Chuggington stack and track, and some Chuggington trains so now when the DVD is on we have the whole episodes reenacted.

It is great the boys love the DVD and so do I! I like that it teaches them to work together, to form great friendships and most importantly not to give up!

Chug Patrol : Ready To The Rescue, is available now with an RRP of £5.00 on special offer at Amazon at the moment!

Olly the little white van DVD #Review

children and kids olly the little white van DVD

Both of my boys are vehicle mad from trains to lorry's, cars tractors and cranes they love them in our house they are always whizzing round with something. So you can understand when I say they really love Olly the little white van we were asked if we could review one of the DVDs in the range, of course I said yes the boys already have a couple of there DVDs and they are a big hit!

If you haven't heard of Olly the little white van, he is exactly what it says an animated little white van, he is an adorable and friendly character that is always rushing around to help a friend in need and doing a good deed all the episodes seem to have this as there ultimate focus, the episodes also seem to show a lot of the characters getting things wrong but trying there best which is a great life lesson to be teaching children - as long as you try your best that's all that matters. There are also lots of other vehicles in the episodes of which are all Olly's friends all the characters are great fun and help Olly along with his fun adventures

children and kids olly the little white van DVD

The show is voiced by Justin Fletcher is very clear and each episode only lasts for five minutes helping to keep children interested and great for children that don't have a long attention span

As I said above Liam and Adam have liked Olly the Little white van for a long time so below is an old video of them showing there love for it you can here the catchy tune the words go...

Olly the little white van, helps his friends as much as he can

Olly the little white van, always around to give a helping hand..”

its really catchy and has me singing the tune all day after hearing it!

DVD Review scooby - Doo

scooby doo kids DVd

We were recently sent Scooby-Doo Adventures: The Mystery Map to entertain the children too. It was available from 21st October 2013.

Liam is a huge fan of Scooby Doo, however it can be a little scary at times for younger children so I was a little reluctant to let the boys watch it, We settled down on Sunday afternoon to watch it all together and soon found out this was Scooby with a difference.

The Mystery Map uses puppets instead of animation. I wasn't sure what to think at first. Same Scooby Doo style movie but with Sesame Street type puppets.

The Mystery Map is an adventure story all about Scooby Doo and his gang on the search for some treasure. They are accidentally delivered a treasure map along with their pizza and they decide to follow it, which leads them on a great adventure involving a phantom parrot, pirates and lots of danger and excitement. There are a couple of songs along the way too which the boys had a dance too which was nice to see them enjoying it.

The film is rated U with mild threat and scary scenes I didn't think it was to scary but I wouldn't let them watch it on there own the first time they watch it as they may need some reassurance with characters like the Phantom Parrot and Gnarly the Pirate, and the general spooky atmosphere.

the film lasts for forty three minutes which is quite reasonable for a child's film it meant they didn't have time to get bored.

Over all the boys really loved this film, I would recommend it but with some parental guidance especially if you have children that are a little nervous, this film would make a great stocking filler or gift for Christmas.

Tractor Ted DVD #Review

I discovered this fantastic brand on twitter having never heard of Tractor Ted I gave them a follow as they were giving away a DVD about Tractor Ted, given that both my boys love tractors I thought I would try and win one for them, I was lucky enough to win one!

farming and tractor DVDs for children and kids

Let me tell you about Tractor Ted, Tractor Ted came from Alexandra heard. When her children were young her Journeys were delayed by his children making her stop to watch the tractors in the fields and of course like all children they were fascinated by the tractors, so she scoured the market for some footage of real life tractors for his children and their was nothing available, so the idea of Tractor Ted was born. In so in 2005 with the help of a trusted farmer friend they launched there first DVD called "Tractorland" it was a big hit.

Now with thirteen DVDs, 7 Books, children's toys and a range of clothes they are well established Their motto is "Real life fact and Fun"

The DVD I won is called Tractor Ted, Organic farm visit, at a quick glance I did wonder if the DVD would be too old for the boys with them only being nearly two and three and a half as on the Front of the DVD it says;
"Full of Exciting Real Life farm footage narrated by Tractor Ted"
It was the real life that made me think would it be too old for them, as the boys love cartoons and I have come across some real life DVDs before that I have thought the boys would like and they have been bored within minutes.

Well I hold my hands up I was completely wrong this DVD has been on for the past six to seven nights, each night I ask the boys what they would like to watch and each night I hear the same thing Tractor Ted, they absolutely love it, quite honestly I think it is fantastic the DVD is educational, there is a wealth of quite grown up information that is all narrated by this little green tractor. The DVD also incorporates songs, fun and games into it which makes it really good. Every night I can hear Adam singing about clovers in the fields yes he is not quite two or in tune but he really loves it.

I would definitely recommend this fabulous DVD to all parents its educational fun and real to farm life and most importantly children seem to love it! I know what will be on the boys DVD list this Christmas!

To find out more about Tractor teds merchandise and adventures through books and DVDs visit there website www.tractorted.co.uk and why not give them a follow on Facebook or Twitter where you will find lots more information and fun

I wasn't asked to write this review but I have because the boys loved it so much the DVD was a prize won through a giveaway.
