Liams 4th Birthday

I am a bit late writing this post but Liam had a fabulous birthday with lots and lots of presents a very spoilt and lucky little boy his Fourth birthday was just a quiet event this year but he had a great day never the less.

Liam's presents the night before and cards.

His main present was a bike and he did manage to get half hour on it after school, but the weather has been rubbish for him, hopefully he we will be able to take it to the park this weekend coming as long as the weather is good!

His favorite present that Nanna and Grandpa bought for him was a V-tech Innotab I wondered how he would get along with it, as he still cant read yet but he hasn't put it down since he opened it!

I cooked him a lovely birthday cake with his favorite character on "Fire Man Sam" and he wanted chocolate so it was decorated with chocolate butter icing and white chocolate buttons he was a very happy boy!

Another year gone by, I still cant believe my baby is four he is growing into such a lovely young boy.

Happy Birthday Adam

So today was the day you turned two Adam, I was feeling quite emotional as we walked down the stairs this morning and you said "I want Birthday Cake" it was a reminder that the years are just passing by so fast you are growing up so quickly!

You have been absolutely ruined as you both always are on birthdays and Christmas!

You had lots of presents!

Liam was so good and helped you to unwrap your presents not that you were very pleased about it!

Mummy made her first home made birthday cake not a bad attempt and it tasted delicious! I will be telling you the recipe later on in a different post.

You have had a brilliant day today Adam although I think it was all a bit overwhelming you were a bit naughty! and there is not a chance your anywhere near to knowing what sharing is yet but I am sure you will learn over the next year.

Mummy loves you lots and I hope all your wishes come true baby x

Time fly's Adam you're nearly 2!

Two years ago Adam we were all getting ready for you to be born your daddy had a badly sprained ankle from falling over, Liam was just a toddler at 19 months and mummy was heavily pregnant clucking around like a mother hen looking after everyone and preparing myself for you to be born I unfortunately had c-sections with both you and Liam for medical reasons.

We all knew you were going to be a boy as we found out at an earlier scan we even knew what day you were going to be born. But it didn't make it any less exciting. We were all so excited to meet you, me and daddy hadn't decided on a name although we both liked Adam I liked Charlie but I promised your dad he would have the final say, in which he did when you were born, his mind was made up you were Adam Dennis, Dennis after your grandpa and it suited you I loved it.
You were so tiny smaller than Liam was when he was born, your little face was all bruised as they had used forceps on you, I think you must have been quite comfortable in their as you didn't want to come out. Myself and daddy were so proud to hold you you were so cute but really tiny we had to buy you some more clothes as you got lost in all your outfits!

How you have grown and developed from them it makes me sad I don't have a tiny baby any more, but you make me so proud every day you make me laugh and smile you make mummy cross sometimes and you certainly make sure food don't last in the cupboards very long you should be huge in weight and size the amount you eat but you seem to remain little in fact you have been in a little size five shoe for what seems forever and you are still wearing 12-18mths clothes but i am sure you will catch up with Liam one day, I am convinced you will be the tallest even though your little now.

So this time next week you will be turning two not a baby any more your turning into a little boy.
we are all going to an indoor play area for your birthday in the morning and will probably have a little buffet tea in the afternoon mummy is even going to try to bake a cake, try I say loosely as I am not the most artistic but I am sure you will love it whatever it looks like.

I hope this time next week you have a fantastic day. I am sure you will be spoilt rotten as usual, but I don't mind for one day I love to hear you laugh and cant wait to see you smile when you open your presents.

Birthday cake anyone? Baker Days cake review

As you all know its my birthday today, now usually I wouldn't bother with a birthday cake But when Baker Days offered to send me a "letter box" cake to review, I of course jumped at the chance, after all who doesn't love cake? Not only that I had never heard of a "Letter box" cake before. What is it? The name gives it away that's right, its a cake small enough to fit through your "Letter box" I was quite quizzical at how the cake would make it through the post onto my door mat in one piece.

So yesterday morning when I got up a lovely little package dropped through onto my mat, excited to see what it was I opened it up and this is what was inside.

A cute little cake tin (cake inside) three balloons a party blower and two candles perfect for a celebration.

This is the cake I choose, can you see all the fantastic intricate detail, the cakes can be personalised in any way you choose and with over 400 designs to choose from there is something for everyone.

It wouldn't be a birthday without lighting the candles singing "Happy birthday" and making a wish it looks great hard to believe it came through the letter box!

Now for the most important part, cutting and tasting, I choose the chocolate swirl sponge cake. It was delicious the cake was very moist, for a small cake it is certainly very big in flavor the chocolate wasn't to rich, I thought it was just right.

This cake says it for 2-3 people but I did manage to stretch it between 6 people, granted the pieces were not very big but it was enough, just right for a celebration.

The Letter Box cake is priced at £14.99, slightly more than I would pay for a cake but an excellent and perfect idea if you have friends that need cheering up, children that are away at university, or any other celebration that you want to make just that little bit more special and memorable. The cakes are very special unique and are definitely worth paying extra for.

Let me tell you a little bit about Baker Days,
  • Baker Days is situated on the edge of Sherwood forest.
  • They can deliver cakes within 24 hours of receiving your order to anywhere in the UK.
  • There are over 400 personalised designs to choose from.
  • If you cant find what you are looking for they will design what you want and price match.
  • cakes are available in a range of different sizes on there website.
Over all I was very, very impressed with this cake, the little extras like the tin, candles etc all just give it that extra special little touch.
I would definitely recommend giving there site a visit if you have a special occasion coming up, whether its a birthday, christening, wedding anniversary, or just to cheer yourself up they have the perfect something for everyone! and I can honestly say this cake really does fit through your Letter box it genius!
