Slither.io Gaming App Launches Toy Collectibles

I think I am a bad parent as I download all the games on the boys Ipads for them and I didn't know they had this game already on their Ipads - in my defence though they have a lot of games and I always make sure I read the descriptions and if they are age appropriate before I say yes. Embarrassing to say when I received the e-mail about collectable Slither.io creatures and bendable plush toys I asked the boys and there reply was yes please mummy we already play that game much to my surprise!

I got the boys to give me a demonstration of the game and had a little play myself. Slither.io is a huge gaming phenomenon - much to my surprise statistics show 60% of British 0-14-year-olds have downloaded Slither.io and 124 million are played a month in the UK so clearly it is a lot more popular than I first thought!

A range of collectable toys and has just been launched here in the UK, they have been created with unique and recognisable colourful features which match up to the game - these toys include collectable Slither.io creatures and bendable plush toys which are must-have toys for slither.io fans across the country. We received one of the series blind bags a mystery mini squishy Slither.io, a slither three pack of bendable assortment and a brightly coloured slither 8"Bendable Plush.

The blind bag is exactly what it says it is you don't know which slither is in it until you open it there are 15 in the series to collect including 3 rare ones and one ultra rare.

The mini-mystery slither.io squishy - again is a mystery which one you receive until you open the packet we got one with a red skin, however, there is a wide selection of skins to collect as there is in the actual game.

The three pack of bendable assortment you can see the top two slithers but the third is hidden until you open the packet which is exciting when you are trying to collect them all

Last but not least is the 8" Plush slither it does look a bit like a caterpillar but the boys really liked this and all of them were asking if I could get them one each there soft and cute and cuddly.

Prices,

The new Slither.io toy range includes the Slither.io blind bag collection which includes collectable, bendable slither creatures, including rare and ultra-rares £3.99.
Mystery mini Slither.io Squishies, fun to play with squashes that come in hexagonal pots £3.99.
Slither.io bendable 3-pack with two mystery slithers £10.99.
The 8” bendable Slither.io plush which is both cool soft and cute £9.99.

I can see why the game has become so popular and appeals to children with the app being free to download it is a massive gaming phenomenon there have been 12 billion game plays in the last twelve months alone - The new toys compliment the game really well and with them being at low affordable prices I can see them becoming very popular with kids they would also make for great stocking fillers and gifts this Christmas.

We were sent these fun cute and cool collectables for the purpose of this review all opinions remain honest and my own

Woolly and Tig App #Review

young children and kids CBBC kids app great for learning

Woolly and Tig is a popular children's television program for anyone that doesn't know this involves Tig a little girl and Woolly a friendly spider both of my boys love the television program especially Adam who seems to have fallen in love with the spider. this week A brand new Woolly and Tig app has just been released and we have had the opportunity to test it out and I have to say we are very impressed by it!

The Woolly App has 2 main modes of play – the first is structured the second is free play, plus there is also a scheduler for parents to use. When you first open the app, it goes into free play mode with Woolly appearing on the screen the graphics of Woolly are great he is very cute. Woolly automatically starts giving directions to the child of what he would like them to do first, there is no reading to be done on the app all the instructions are verbal which means to here them you need the volume turned up or head phones to hand.

Once In free play mode, you can put woolly to sleep, cuddle him, play counting games and Adams particular favourite, to tickle him Woolly and Adam were both laughing together the instructions were very easy to follow and spoken in simple terms Adam seemed to pick up most of the instructions almost immediately.

The Second part of the App is more structured and is split into six different sections;

Getting Dressed
Brush My Teeth
Wash My Face
Fun In The Rain
Fun In The Sun
Fun In The Snow

Each section is aimed to teach your child different activity's these go through a young child’s every day life and you get a reward for each task you complete a little bronze medal for each task you complete, There is a lot of focus about how to brush your teeth or how to help Woolly get dressed without making a fuss which is really good. Even though Adam is a little young to do this himself its never to early to start with the basics.

There is another part that you can schedule tasks for your child which I think is a great idea and concept it could be very useful as the boys get a little bit older. As this is really good if you are trying to get them into a routine and the parent can set up reminders to complete tasks at a set time.

The Woolly and Tig App costs £2.99 which is the only downside to the App as I think its a little bit expensive side although it is very educational and the boys love it. The App is available now on the apple store – The App is colourful and fun and encourages their independent skills and improving children's concentration as they have to listen to the simple instructions given by Woolly. Its a big thumbs up from us for Woolly we really love this cute little spider and app in our house.

Bedtime story with a difference Chocolapps for iOS devices, #review

As you all know in our house, our bedtime routine ends with a story, usually one that I make up or that Liam picks from his book shelf. I like to think of myself as quite a traditional mum and I am not usually overly enthusiastic about children having technology, but tonight we have done things a little bit differently.

So I am Introducing to you

Apps for children bedtime reading

As I said I am not usually overly enthusiastic on the boys being involved in to much technology, so tonight I was quite sceptical about what the boys would think of being read a story from an app on a device.
We were sent Hansel and Gretal and Little red riding hood in story's to review.
I have to say I was very surprised the boys absolutely loved the stories they were fixated on the screen, I have never seen such a quiet bed time, they laughed and giggled at the wolf from red riding hood. The story's much to my amazement are really educational, entertaining and all round excellent. You can either be read the book by the app, watching the digital images or you can turn over to the text so the child can read the story for themselves. The child can also press on any word and the app will tell them what the word says, so it helps with reading skills. It would also be beneficial if you had a child that was learning another language as you can switch between different languages at the touch of a button.

Let me tell you more about Chocolapps, they are a phone app developer that have been publishing children's interactive apps for three years. Their apps are made to help children to develop themselves in an interactive and funny way. They are aimed at children between the ages of 3-12 years old.

They have over 30 different application's available which are divided into three different categories,
  • The Kid-eBooks such as Peter Pan, Robin Hood, Pinocchio and lots of other classic favorites
  • The Kid-eLearns, the human body, from earth to space & kid-ecook
  • The Kid-eGames, 7 differences, Puzzle and Hide & Seek

All the apps are available in 7 different languages (English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese and Dutch) and board features support reading and comprehension.

In France, these tools are processed, validated and optimized by teachers and organizations working on the acquisition and operation of the language.

I was sent four of the apps to review the two story books that I have mentioned above in which the boys loved and a further two.

The human body (kid-eLearns)

This is an app aimed towards older children, it has numerous different sections to the app from the immune system, bones, right down to reproduction. Tom the lion professor will talk you through different sections, for instance if you click on the woman's stomach when the image shows you pregnancy, it will show you how the stomach grows and it speaks to tell you the different parts of the body. The app is accurate and makes learning great fun.

7 Differences (Kids-eGames)

This app is great fun for all ages, even adults like myself enjoy it, the game helps to increase children's development in different skills through counting, remembering where missing items are and memory through the memory game. The app also teaches them to be patient and to concentrate as you have to look very carefully to spot the differences.

I thought all four of the apps were excellent, my favorite's over all were the children's story apps, I would have never thought of downloading story's by apps but it is definitely worth doing it as children love them. I also love that they are all classic story's that you will never tire of.
