After a long weekend that seen us out on Saturday night until quite late, and me catching up with my blog posts last night I think when my head hit the pillow at around 11pm last night, nothing was going to wake me I was absolutely exhausted.
When the boys woke up this morning at goodness knows what time - they have been getting up between 4-5 am of late, exhausted mummy did not here them creeping around the landing, luckily I have a stair gate at the top of the stairs so they cant get down, but even with a stair gate at the top of the stairs it doesn't mean that they cant cause absolute mayhem.
I awoke at around 7am which is really quite late for me, I normally here the boys if they wake up, and once they are awake they usually climb in my bed at the side of me, But not this morning.
Immediately when I woke up I could here the sound of running water - the bathroom is next to my bedroom realising what the noise was I quickly grabbed for my dressing gown and went to see what was going on and I couldn't believe what greeted me, they had managed to use toys to climb up and fetch bottles down from the shelves, there was bubble bath, shampoo, toothpaste and a huge puddle of water all over the floor with toys thrown in amongst the mess, for good measure.
But the mess didn't stop there, there bedroom had been completely turned upside down their were toys, clothes, bedding, strewn everywhere Adams bed was soaked with water along with the carpet. Liam and Adam casually hiding in the wardrobe knowing that they had done was wrong.
Normally I would shout and scream at them to get the mess cleared up - But I was that cross with them and myself for not getting up, I turned around went back into my bedroom and shut the door, I was that cross with them I needed to take some deep breaths before I went back in to deal with them, I really didn't want to loose my temper - I was at boiling point.
After a few deep breaths I went back in to their bedroom and I did shout at them - the boys are two and three they do know the difference between right and wrong - I made them pick every single toy up and strip there beds before I would let them downstairs for breakfast, I am not a mean mum but they need to learn if they want to make such a mess they will face the consequences.
The clean up took till around 8.45 but I wasn't going to give in with the boys they were going to clean up there mess and I spent most of this time mopping up the slippery mess in the bathroom - Yes they are children and I know children make a mess, but there is a lesson to be learned make sure I am never that tired so I get up when they do!
The rest of the day will consist of washing all there bedding trying to dry out the upstairs and purchasing new toiletries that I have none left of!
oh no! What chaos. I can foresee this happening when mine are two and three. It's hard when you have kids close in age they can get into trouble together and tag team against us parents. Bless you for being woke up to all that. I would have shouted big time. you are so smart to go in your room for a few breathe i think I would have passed out first. Glad you made them clean it up too. Hopefully it will be there last morning chaos event. And all your bathroom products used up too. NOOO! poor you. Thank you so much for linking up to Share With Me. It's great to get to know another amazing blog and get to know more about you and your two little monsters. Love the name. Sounds like my household! #sharewithme
ReplyDeleteEek! You are not alone - I think all children have potential to create destruction, given half a chance! Really hope you got it all sorted, through gritted teeth and deep breathing ;). E x. #sharewithme
ReplyDeleteWell done for leaving and taking a deep breath before going back and telling them off! I would have shouted, a lot! #ShareWithMe
