The Snowman and the Snow dog pesonalised story book #Review

With the X-Factor starting around two weeks ago the countdown to Christmas is truly on its way which means its time to start looking around for some Christmas gifts and ideas. I love personalised products and recently we had the chance to review a lovely personalised book from Penwizard called The Snowman and the Snow Dog.

The Snowman and the Snow dog pesonalised story book #Review

This is the first personalised book that either of the boys have had, I decided that the best person to have the book would be Liam, he doesn't like reading that much so I had it personalised for him in the hope it would encourage him to be more interested in books themselves and to help him want to read the words.

I ordered the book from Penwizard, the ordering process was really simple you simply type the name of the child into the box then you can change the character to look like your child (or whoever you are buying the book for) and then you have the choice as to whether you would like to add a personal message at the front of the book.

The illustrations throughout the book are really stunning and the pictures are really high quality. throughout the book the child's name is mentioned quite a few times with gives a real sense of feeling a big part of the story and it makes it more exciting I think that your average book. Liam really enjoyed it and although he still cant read the words he did recognise his name and he did seem more interested.

The books are priced at £17,99 for a paper back book and £24.99 for the hardback style book this book would make a great gift for an advent countdown stocking or present to go under the tree and I think the price is reasonable for a high quality personalised book - it really is lovely.

Disclosure, we were sent this lovely book for the purpose of this review all opinions remain honest and my own

#Weaning week, Wow baby cup #Review

Baby cups can be a pain not so much when your baby starts weaning as they don't drink too much juice, but once they get a bit older and they are having more fluid carrying a juice cup in your bag can become a pain, a lot of cups leak or drip you find the bottom of your bag damp with sticky juice.

We were sent the Wow cup to review the cup has 306 degree drinking edge meaning your child can drink from all the way round the edge and it is completely spill free. The cup offers a water free spill guarantee - which for mums like us means no more sticky bags or damp clothes in fact in the past I have thrown some clothes away because juice has leaked on them in the changing bag and I just couldn't lift the stain.

WOW non spill baby training cup

The cup is exactly what it says "Wow", I thought it was amazing, when I first got it out its packaging I did wonder how it worked, the Wow cup is aimed at children nine plus months and Jack is only just getting used to his sipping cup, I did try to get him to have a go but he is just too little so I got Adam to trial it he is three and seemed really excited when I gave it too him - the Cup has no spouts levers or buttons, I gave it to him as it was, I wanted to see if he could work it out for himself. He did straight the way I asked him if he liked it and he said yes - he also asked if he could keep it! so it was a thumbs up from him and from myself you can hold it and shake it upside down and it doesn't leak at all!.

WOW non spill baby training cup

Wow Cups are BPA free, Phthalate free, PVC free, and dishwasher safe. The valves are made of a soft food grade silicone and easily are removed from the lid by gently pressing on them from the inside of the cup. There is a convenient lid on every cup to keep the drinking surface clean when storing.

The Wow Baby Wow Cups are clear and hold up to 7 ounces. There are measurements along one side of the cup to easily track how much your child has drank. There are two types of cup available there are the Wow kids Cups which hold nine ounces of juice and the Wow Baby Wow Cup this is slightly different because not only does it have handles, but the rim of the cup is wider, giving baby a more natural edge so they don't need to apply much pressure while drinking.

I think that a baby would take some time to get used to the cup as you have to make a straw type shape with your mouth on the edge and also I noticed that Adam held the cup up slightly higher than a normal cup, but really these are no problem! I actually really loved this product and so did Adam I am so glad we have found the Wow cup and I will be investing in two of the bigger cups for the older boys!

National Cleaning day 19th March - Vileda #Review

Spring is nearly officially upon us and its time to start emptying out the cupboards - we will be sorting out for a car boot and of course giving the house a good clean especially the windows, most of them have the most artistic little hand prints and streaks on them!

This March 19th families nationwide are expected to participate in the first Annual national cleaning day. The idea is to get everyone to "pitch in and clean" in the hope that it encourages those that are unfamiliar with a mop or hover to help out around the home.

On the day people all over the UK are asked to dedicate a few hours to cleaning in the hope your home with be fresh and sparkly in time for spring.

Did you know despite revolutions in cleaning more than 67% of adults still rely on there parents to come round and clean or help with chores around the home despite living independently - shocking isn't it, I can honestly say I have never asked my parents round to help me clean!
Mums around the UK are drafted in to help with a whole host of chores with washing up being at the top of the list closely followed by vacuuming or mopping, laundry then ironing.

National cleaning day is a day to put mums or whoever does the bulk of chores first, giving them a little bit of help and support is guaranteed to put a smile on there face and to get things around the home finished quicker. If you never do the washing up get you rubber gloves on, if you never do the hoovering fetch the hover out, do whatever you can to "Pitch in and clean."

On the day Vileda is offering the first ever 24 hour Tweetline giving you a chance to ask any cleaning query or problems no matter how big or small - They will have experts on hand to help. Also on the Vileda Facebook page there will be a chance to win some cleaning products, alongside top tips advice and facts related to national cleaning day.

We were sent four products from the cleaning range to try out and put to the test,

Vileda cleaning products for the home

  • Active Wave, Non Scratch All Purpose Scourer.
  • Microfibre, Dust Cloth.
  • Vileda, style, Sunsplash all purpose cloths.
  • Microfibre, 2 in 1 Kitchen cloth.

First up we tried out the, active wave non Scratch all purpose cleaner, Vileda have injected a small yet powerful dose of power into your cleaning. The ideal all purpose cleaner makes light work of of removing dirt effectively without scratching - I put this to the test on some of my lovely pans, I am always sceptical and a bit scared to use anything that is a bit scratchy on them I usually just buy soft dish cloths but this can mean soaking pans for hours upon end.

The Active wave sponge feels just that, one side is quite scratchy the other side is soft like a sponge, I tried this out on my pan after having spaghetti, the pan had been left over night so I new it would be quite tough to clean - I didn't leave the pan in the water for too long, I made use of the active sponge, it worked really well it didn't scratch any of the Teflon coating off, it did glide through the dirt on the pan making it easy and quick to clean I was surprised at how well it worked and that there was no damage to the surface of the pan.

The Vileda active wave cloth is the latest innovation in cleaning technology and is priced at £1.29

Next up we tried out the Microfibre Dust, this is a softened fleece effect cloth that removes up to 40% more dust than traditional dusters. It is creates its own electrostatic charge and it attracts dust, dirt and hair which is most commonly found in the home.

The duster its self is really soft, its so soft that Adam was calling it a baby blanket and cuddling it, I tried this out upstairs, we have a tumble dryer upstairs which makes plenty of dust to clean, I thought the cloth worked really well at collecting the mass amount of dust that collects upstairs, However I didn't think it was anything better or anything worse that others dusters I have used previously, I would say that that they are all as good as each other, the only thing I did think was better about the dust cloth was that when it was washed and dried it hadn't lost its shape and it was still as soft as when I had first taken it out of the packet. The Microfibre dust cloth is priced at £1.99.

The new Microfibre Kitchen, is great out of the different cloths we were sent this is my favourite, its an all in one cloth. One side of the cloth has groves running down it where as the other side is quite soft but very absorbent. I love this one because of its multipurpose instead of looking at all the cleaning cloths in the supermarket trying to decide which one you want to buy, this makes things so much easier one side of the cloth is perfect for polishing and cleaning grease where as the other side is great for tackling burnt on dirt without again scratching the things you need to clean.

I used this on the tops of my oven and it worked really well at helping to lift all the dirt from the tops of it with out using to much elbow grease and I only used water. It is also really great at absorbing the liquid used to clean.

I then washed the cloth and used it as a duster, to dust the kitchen after washing the cloth, it came out just as good and it is like the Microfibre dust, I wouldn't say its any better in use as a duster or any worse I would put them all around the same figure if I had to give them a number. The Microfibre Kitchen is priced at £1.99.

Last but by no means least we tried out the yellow Sunsplash - All purpose cleaning cloths, these are reusable cloths for in and around the home, they are absorbent and long lasting.

I have been using these for everything wiping down the highchair and tables cleaning the kitchen sides, wiping dirty finger prints off the door frames, I have used it mainly as like a anything cloth when Liam spilt his drink the other day I used this to soak up the juice I have to say the cloth did a good job and didn't seem to be wet through or dripping when I was carrying it through to the kitchen to rinse it out. The Sunsplash cloth is very flexible and can also be washed in the washing machine so you can use it again and again.

Vileda cleaning products for the home

Overall, I really liked the Vileda cloths and when I am in the mood cleaning can be quite therapeutic.

2014 is here........... Happy New Year!!

Slightly later than planned but I am back to writing lots of new posts after having a lovely break away of nearly two weeks off..... which I have to say has flown by but I am back for good. Christmas seems A lifetime ago now, the decorations are down and the room looks empty again, but the mass of toys still remain the boys were absolutely spoilt, the favourites being a little tikes kitchen (for them to share) a V-tech camera and the big city garage from early learning centre the boys love them! There has been a lot of laughter family time and lots of over indulgence - even Liam looks a bit podgy round the middle.
For me the scales at slimming world told me I had put on 2lb through the Christmas week I am hoping any alcohol consumed on new year will be put right if I continue to eat sensibly from here on in.

So Let me tell you what I have planned for the year ahead with my blog first and foremost.....

As you all know I am officially signed up to be a shoplet blogger so there will be some more posts from them coming soon

I am also going to be reviewing products from the Birdseye blogging scheme bringing some products old and new to share with you.

I have also just received a lovely gift from Stylelux as I have joined up to there beauty blogger scheme, So there will be some more posts to come from this company.
They have sent me some 10ml Pouches of blackhead killer face masks The mask comes in a pack of 10 and it is quite a strong face mask. You apply it for 10 minutes and then peel off. The face mask is totally black and cleans out any impurities from the skin. Once I applied it, I could quickly feel the effect of it getting to work. The style of packaging and the black colour of the mask makes it a very neutral product so suitable for men or women, I thought the mask was very kind to the skin, as my skin is quite sensitive and a lot of products leave it feeling dry but these left my skin feeling quite fresh and the mask really peeled off well, I thought they did what they are suppose to do on the packet.

I am hoping to bring you more posts about health and some other reviews from brand new and individual awesome products.

I will also be writing some lovely posts about our life and adventures which hopefully will be of many, I have decided this is going to be my year and I am going to make it fun and fabulous in every way so watch this space!

How was your Christmas and new year do you have any big plans for 2014? I would love to hear.....
